Mental Health Conditions Affect 53M Americans…

That translates to one in every five adults in the U.S., according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which reports these statistics and more each year.

During the month of May, we encourage you to participate in building mental health awareness at Hitachi Vantara. The first step you can take, if you haven’t already done so, is to educate yourself about mental health conditions. NAMI provides a range of statistics and information to help you better understand mental health conditions and familiarize yourself with potential warning signs in yourself and loved ones.

If you or a loved one is dealing with a mental health condition, you have resources that can help, including free confidential counseling in person or by phone through the Anthem Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Receive up to eight counseling sessions in person per issue or unlimited counseling sessions by phone. Get started by vising the Anthem EAP, and click on EAP Member Login. Use code Hitachi when prompted.

The Anthem EAP also offers you emotional support resources through the Learn to Live digital program. Learn to Live is an array of digital tools that are grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps you identify negative thought and behavior patterns and work through them. You’ll also learn how to effectively manage stress, depression, anxiety, substance use and sleep issues. And you’ll have:

  • Personalized one-on-one coaching to provide you with support and encouragement along the way.
  • Options to add friends and family as teammates, to stay motivated and accountable while you work through the programs.
  • Weekly texts and reminders to help you practice mindfulness and exercises to improve mood.
  • Live and on-demand webinars with experts who discuss how you can improve your mental health.

Get started with a quick assessment! Visit anthemEAP.com, and enter company code Hitachi when prompted. Or call 1-800-865-1044 to learn more.
