Group Accident Coverage

Despite our best-laid plans, the unexpected can occur—especially when it comes to your health. While your medical coverage takes good care of you, Group Accident provides a cash benefit that’s separate from your medical plan benefits. It covers costs associated with fractures and dislocations, hospital intensive care, ambulance fees, stitches, casts, wheelchairs and more.

Your benefit depends on the severity and type of your injury or accident. The Accident Plan Highlights explain it all.

Coverage level Semi-Monthly Paycheck Deduction
Employee $8.10
Employee and spouse $11.59
Employee and dependent children $15.45
Employee and family $18.94

Group Critical Illness Coverage

No one is ever 100% prepared for a sudden illness or diagnosis—but critical illness coverage can help you come close. If you’re battling a specific illness—such as cancer, heart attack, or stroke—a critical illness plan helps you cover costs beyond your medical coverage. It provides a lump-sum, tax-free benefit upon your diagnosis that you can use toward the added cost of your treatment, or to pay living expenses that you couldn’t otherwise afford.

Is critical illness coverage right for you? Here’s something to consider: If you were diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, would you have sufficient funds to pay for:

  • All of your regular bills?
  • Your insurance copays and deductibles?
  • Any necessary modifications to your home to make it accessible for you with your new condition?
  • Out-of-town transportation and lodging for medical treatment?
  • Additional household and child care expenses?
  • Medical treatments not covered by traditional health insurance?

If the answer to most or all of these is no, critical illness coverage could be right for you. Also, you’ll pay less if you enroll through Hitachi Vantara than you would on the open market. The Critical Illness Highlights explain it all.
