The unexpected can happen at any time. You can purchase additional protection through Voya to help you cover various expenses when you’re hit with an unexpected accident, illness or hospital stay. Coverage for your dependents is available for any of these voluntary benefits, as long as you have elected coverage for yourself.
Accident Insurance
Accident insurance can help you pay for expenses related to unexpected accidents and injuries. Accident insurance pays a cash benefit that’s separate from your medical plan benefits, and the benefit is payable regardless of any other insurance plans.
The benefit amount is determined by your injury and the medical care you received and is paid in a lump-sum amount. No health questions are required, but a pre-existing condition clause may apply.

What Does It Cost?
You may enroll in any of these additional insurance benefits within 31 days of your hire date, or during Open Enrollment each year via your benefits enrollment platform.
Critical Illness Insurance
Are you protected if you experience a critical illness? You can purchase Critical Illness insurance to help pay for expenses related to the diagnosis of a critical illness such as a heart attack, coma, kidney failure or cancer. Critical Illness insurance helps you cover costs beyond your medical coverage. It pays a lump-sum, tax-free benefit upon your diagnosis that you can use toward the added cost of your treatment or to pay living expenses that you couldn’t otherwise afford. Your critical illness benefits are payable regardless of any other insurance plans.

What Does It Cost?
What you pay for critical illness insurance depends on age and whether you’re covering yourself, your spouse or your children. These rates will be locked in on the date you first enroll for the duration of your coverage.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance
An unexpected hospital stay or confinement can be expensive, even with medical insurance. You can purchase Hospital Indemnity insurance to help pay for expenses and bills related to being admitted to or confined in a hospital. Benefits are paid directly to you, and the funds can be used as you see fit.
