Accident Insurance

Accident insurance can help you pay for expenses related to unexpected accidents and injuries. Accident insurance pays a cash benefit that’s separate from your medical plan benefits, and the benefit is payable regardless of any other insurance plans.

The benefit amount is determined by your injury and the medical care you received and is paid in a lump-sum amount. No health questions are required, but a pre-existing condition clause may apply.

You are responsible for paying the cost of this benefit, and coverage for your dependents is available as long as you have elected coverage for yourself. For more information, review Voya’s Accident Insurance Benefits at a glance.

What Does It Cost?

You may enroll in any of these additional insurance benefits within 31 days of your hire date, or during Open Enrollment each year via your benefits enrollment platform.

Critical Illness Insurance

Are you protected if you experience a critical illness? You can purchase Critical Illness insurance to help pay for expenses related to the diagnosis of a critical illness such as a heart attack, coma, kidney failure or cancer. Critical Illness insurance helps you cover costs beyond your medical coverage. It pays a lump-sum, tax-free benefit upon your diagnosis that you can use toward the added cost of your treatment or to pay living expenses that you couldn’t otherwise afford. Your critical illness benefits are payable regardless of any other insurance plans.

The benefit amount is determined by the type of illness you have. No health questions are required, but a pre-existing condition clause may apply. You are responsible for paying the cost of this benefit. For more information, review Voya’s Critical Illness Insurance Benefits at a glance.

What Does It Cost?

What you pay for critical illness insurance depends on age and whether you’re covering yourself, your spouse or your children. These rates will be locked in on the date you first enroll for the duration of your coverage.

Long-Term Care Insurance

The Hitachi Vantara Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance program offered by Transamerica* covers care received at home, in the community or in a nursing home. Because your health insurance, disability insurance and Medicare coverage don’t pay for the cost of this care, LTC plans are designed to help protect your retirement savings from the cost of LTC services if you need care in the future.

Visit Transamerica to learn more, obtain a quote and apply, or contact our dedicated team at 1-800-229-1841* for assistance.

Why Apply for Long-Term Care?

Long-term care services are expensive and can exceed $48,000 per year for home care. Many people apply for a policy because they don’t want to deplete their lifelong savings and investments to pay for care.

Long-term care insurance:

  • Helps protect a retirement plan. Without planning, an extended health care event can devastate years of retirement savings.
  • Gives people a choice about care. Planning before an event enables people to receive care and benefits on their terms.
  • Eases the burden on family members. Long-term care insurance allows family members to be involved in caring for their loved ones without being the primary provider.

Already Have LTC Insurance?

If you currently have long-term care coverage, this offering will not affect any of your existing policies.  For questions regarding coverage previously purchased as a Hitachi employee through LifeSecure, you may contact LifeSecure Policyholder Services at 1-888-575-8246.

* Transamerica Long-Term Care Insurance products are currently unavailable in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; however, other options are available for you and your family. Visit the learning center to obtain more information and request a quote, or call (800) 243-4392 to talk one-on-one with an enrollment counselor.
